The date for submissions for UK Mega 2020 has now passed and the only application received has been reviewed and discussed by the UK Mega Stakeholder Committee members.
Unfortunately, on this occasion, after a unanimous decision the committee have concluded that they are unable to progress with this application in its current format. The Stakeholder Committee took the decision to reject the sole bid for the 2020 UK Mega because the UK Mega is a stand-alone event that is an established event in its own rights rather than one combined with another established legacy mega event.
It was decided that the most appropriate course of action was to give feedback to the applicant then reset the dates for a second round of interest where they may submit a new application if they wish. This will be in January 2018 and full details will be available in the Mega Stakeholder forum.

The stakeholder group are now in a position to announce the host of the Annual UK Mega event in 2020.
Only one team applied during the second application window. Their detailed proposal document has been reviewed, scrutinised for suitability and voted on.
The results of the vote were unanimous and we are pleased to announce that Sussex have been awarded the UK Mega Event account for 2020.
Congratulations and good luck to the new Sussex team. We look forward to seeing your exciting plans develop.
